COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (May 14, 2004) – Averitt Express, one of the nation’s leading freight transportation and supply chain management providers, was recently presented with the 2003 “Quality Carrier Award" from Jostens Inc., a manufacturer of school yearbooks located in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The award, which Averitt earned for the seventh consecutive year, is given annually to the company's most outstanding carriers in recognition of their superior performance during the previous calendar year. The award is given based on feedback from Jostens' customers on carrier performance. Customers evaluated the carriers based on criteria such as fewest claims, on-time service, and overall professionalism.

The 2003 Quality Carrier Award is part of Jostens' carrier evaluation program, which is overseen by Program Administrator Buddy Hayes at Jostens' Winston-Salem facility. Hayes presented the award to Averitt's Fred Crater, Account Executive with Averitt's Greensboro service center.

"This award is presented to a carrier who has outstanding local operations, customer service and account management, " Hayes stated. "Averitt continues to be a positive extension of Jostens as they deliver our yearbooks throughout their system. "

The Jostens quality program, now company wide, was introduced at the Winston-Salem facility in 1994. It has helped improve service, reduce damage claims, and provide our customers with the best service and technology available.
