COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (December 10, 2007)—Averitt Express, one of the nation's leading freight transportation and supply chain management providers, recently increased its number of next-day shipping lanes in Texas.
The improvements will reduce transit times to hundreds of cities in south and west Texas between El Paso, Laredo, San Antonio, Austin and Harlingen.
Calvin Rackley, Averitt’s regional vice president for Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, said, "We’ve added new capabilities from some of our Texas facilities. Our continuing growth in Texas has allowed us to invest in our capabilities and improve service across the southern and western portions of the state. It has also improved our cross-border service to and from Mexico."
Many shipping lanes that were previously two-day lanes will now see next-day service.
Rackley said, "Our service improvements in south Texas will help all our Texas customers shipping to the area. It will also help improve consolidation and distribution moves for customers shipping between Mexico and the United States. Averitt’s warehousing and LTL facilities along the border are some of the best, and customers who utilize these centers will benefit from decreased time-in-transit, improved service quality, flexible, value-added services, and cost savings."
