Freezable Freight Advisory

We want to make sure your shipments are handled properly and arrive to their destination the way you intended.

In regards to freezable freight, please note:

  • If your freight is subject to freezing, please make sure “Protect From Freezing” is clearly marked on the bill of lading.

  • When shipping freight that must be protected from freezing, please download and fill out our Freezable Freight Waiver. More information about our Freezable Freight Policy can be found on our Averitt 100 Rules Tariff, Item 810-50 (for LTL) and 55 (for Truckload).

  • We will not pick up freezable freight in one-day lanes on a Friday (or the day before a holiday), or in multi-day lanes on a Thursday or Friday (or two days before a holiday).

  • We will not pickup freight that is traveling within a service center area with temperature less than 15 degrees.
